go ahead and brief you on our town.
As any city, there are many different varities of
housing, income levels, school systems, pollution
rates and crime rates. Suprisingly enough, as far
as crime rate goes, Morgantown is still living in
an almost fictitious 1950's sitcom. All of Morgantown
areas fall way below the national average. Where the
national average sits at a numerical value of 100
Morgantown as a whole falls in a rate between 22 and
84. Just as crime is low in Morgantown, pollution
rates are similiarly low when compared to the national
average.

There are many sections to Morgantown. Downtown can
be classified in two parts as the Evansdale Campus
and the Downtown Campus. As you might have guessed
these parts are dominantly student oriented although
there are some suprisingly beautiful and hard to acquire
homes within the downtown regions. In the Downtown
section of Morgantown, historical South Park would
probably be a good place to showcase the beautiful
old homes of Morgantown and the wealthier half of
its occupants. The lower end of South Park hosts many
beautiful homes turned rentals that with a little
fixing up could shine like their glory days. The Evansdale
campus has a wonderful area called Suncrest that also
features nicer neighborhoods and quiet surroundings.
There are also many townhome and condo complexes built
for Medical Students and varying other professionals
around the Evansdale Medical complexes. In between
the two campuses you will find a multitude of subdivisions
that in such a basic overview we can't really begin
to tear apart the details of each. Once again this
is a very brief overview. Monongalia county covers
361 square miles and the development here would make
it seem even larger.
The Cheat Lake area boasts the higher income and
nicest of communities to our area. Many residents
seek out the area for quiet communities and it's school
systems. The area of Morgantown called Westover/ Downtown
is a middle of the road price ranged area and is close
to the downtown campus. The homes are midranged and
midaged. The star city area is comparable to the Westover
area. There is currently major development out in
Star City where they are constructing strip malls
causing land values to skyrocket due to future planning.
