The truth in free credit reports is it seems there is
always a slight catch to it being free. In my seaching
for a valid one I did come across some legislation that
has passed entitling you to a free credit report (WITH
LITERALLY NO CATCHES) Our area of the country was the
last to undergo legislation but now the entire country
can take advantage of this public right.

The great thing about this is it's a recent amendment
to the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It requires
each of the nationwide consumer reporting companies to
provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at
your request, once every 12 months.
Now annual credit report is honestly free.
If it's legislation hasn't passed in your
area yet you can try some of these others
that claim to be free but have slight incentives
to keep you to put down some cash.
